The New Orleans Saints continue their process to hire their next head coach. The playoffs throw a bit of a curveball in that task, though.

Coaches whose team is playing in round one of the postseason cannot begin interviewing until next week.

Aaron Glenn, the Detroit Lions defensive coordinator, interviewed virtually this past week since his team is on bye in round one. They have home field advantage in the NFC.

Latest on Joe Brady/Saints

Meanwhile, Buffalo Bills OC and former LSU Tigers assistant Joe Brady is of interest to New Orleans, too. Buffalo plays this weekend, so his interview process won't start until next week.

Joe Brady hasn't scheduled out all of his plans yet. Focus is on winning the Super Bowl. But his plan is to talk to the Saints next week once allowed by the rules, I'm told. — Nick Underhill

The Saints requested an interview with Brady early this past week.

The New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Chicago Bears have all also requested an interview with the young coaching candidate. He and Lions OC Ben Johnson are seen as some of the offensive frontrunners in this HC cycle.

In his first full season calling the plays for Josh Allen and the Bills, Brady’s offense put up team records of 525 points and 62 offensive touchdowns as the Bills rolled to 13 wins and their fifth straight AFC East division title.

Brady was also an assistant under Sean Payton in New Orleans previously. GM Mickey Loomis knows him and understands his connection to the state after his work with Joe Burrow and LSU as well.
