Ohio State is 13-2 on the season and win No. 14 would capture Ryan Day his first National Championship as a head coach and the Buckeyes first in a decade.

The 28-14 win over Texas for the Buckeyes is in the past and now they will face Notre Dame. During this College Football Playoff run, the defense has been stifling for the Buckeyes.

On the other side, the offense has been playing very well as well. QB Will Howard is right in the middle of making that happen. However, the graduate transfer from Kansas State would make one change about his time in Columbus if he could.

“The only thing I wish I could go back and do differently about my time here is I wish I had more time,” Howard said after the win on Friday. “I wish I had more time with Coach Day. I have gotten so much better because of him and Coach Kelly and because of Billy and just being here.”

I’ve gotten to be so close with guys like Jack (Sawyer) and Emeka (Egbuka) and Seth (McLaughlin) and all these guys. I only had just one year with them. I wish I had a chance to be with these guys longer. We’re trying to draw this thing out as long as we can. Here we are, man, but the job’s not finished. We got to go out there and finish this thing.”

Howard has thrown for 3,779 yards, 30 touchdowns, and has completed 73 percent of his passes this season. Ohio State’s starting quarterback has thrown just 10 interceptions and has added seven rushing touchdowns.

Last season at Kansas State, Howard threw for 24 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and 2,643 yards. That was his best college season yet until he arrived in Columbus.

Howard is serving as a one-year bridge for the Buckeyes until they hand the keys to former five-star recruit Julian Sayin next season, most likely. Howard has brought the exact style of play the Buckeyes needed.

Ohio State has one more game to get through and Howard can make his only season as a Buckeye a National Championship season.
