Many former New England Patriots players have been reacting to the news that Mike Vrabel is headed back to Foxborough as the new head coach. And that includes Rob Gronkowski.

The legendary tight end spoke about the move on FOX's NFL show on Sunday.

"The New England Patriots got their guy this morning in Patriot great Mike Vrabel. And let me tell you, Patriots fans are thrilled. This guy is going to keep everyone accountable in the organization, from the coaching staff to the players," Gronkowski said. "He's going to keep himself accountable and even the front office, he's going to keep accountable. This guy has knowledge, he has the power, and he's going to be great. He knows how to discipline players."

And with that, he revealed what he thinks Vrabel's first move should be.

"And if I'm Mike Vrabel, the first thing I would do is call up and dial up the number of Josh McDaniels, a familiar face to Patriots fans and hire him as offensive coordinator as soon as possible," Gronkowski added.

McDaniels has already been rumored to be at the top of the list for offensive coordinator candidates. And his resume in New England speaks for itself.

He has won six Super Bowls with the Patriots, but his recent work with the team is more important for this time. During Mac Jones' rookie season, McDaniels was crucial in developing him into a Pro Bowl quarterback that one season. However, when he left prior to Jones' second year, the former Patriots quarterback took a serious decline.

It's clear that his work at offensive coordinator was crucial for Jones. So, just imagine what he could do when working with Drake Maye.

Bringing McDaniels back makes a lot of sense, so let's see if Vrabel can make it happen.
