The San Francisco 49ers' number of selections for the Pro Bowl Games is unsurprisingly down from last year's Super Bowl season, when they had nine, but they still figure to be well represented at in Orlando.
Fullback Kyle Juszczyk, tight end George Kittle, defensive end Nick Bosa and linebacker Fred Warner were all selected for the NFC team.
Juszczyk earns a record-extending ninth selection, his tally the most by a fullback in NFL history. He has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his eight seasons with San Francisco.
Kittle is picked to the Pro Bowl for the sixth time in his career. It marks his fourth successive selection.
Bosa's selection also makes it four in a row for the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year. It is the fifth time in his career that Bosa has earned a Pro Bowl nod.
Warner's third successive selection and fourth of his career comes at the end of a season in which he fought through a broken bone in his ankle, retaining his status as one of the premier linebacker in the game in spite of that issue.
The Niners also have four players named among the alternates, though two of them certainly won't be at the event.
Quarterback Brock Purdy, left tackle Trent Williams, defensive end Leonard Floyd and cornerback Deommodore Lenoir were all picked as alternates. Purdy suffered an elbow injury in Monday's loss to the Detroit Lions while Williams has not played since Week 11 because of an ankle issue.
As such, don't expect to see either in Orlando, though both Floyd and Lenoir could well be in attendance following drop outs by injured players and Super Bowl participants. For the latter, it would be deserved recognition for an outstanding season in which he has solidified himself as one of the best and most versatile corners in the NFL.
