Ohio State has won their first two games in the College Football Playoff and needs two more wins to become National Champions.
Next up for the Buckeyes is Texas, who beat Arizona State in overtime after defeating Clemson. It was a fourth down throw from Quinn Ewers that Texas needed to beat the Sun Devils.
Ahead of the game, Ohio State is the favorite by just under a touchdown according to most sports books. Recently on ESPN, Stephen A. Smith revealed that he is worried for Texas going into this game.
"I'm just saying, Texas has looked sloppy. I think that they've played below expectations,” he said. “I'm not going to lie to you, I pray that I'm wrong, I'm scared they're going to get blown out. I'm scared that Ohio State is going to blow them out."
Texas struggled with Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo, who had three total touchdowns and 242 combined rushing/receiving yards. The Sun Devils had 510 yards of total offense compared to 375 for Texas.
"What (is) Ohio State gonna do? Egbuka, uh, Smith, Henderson, and these boys. They've got weapons all over the place for Ohio State. Whatcha gonna do with three? Or four? Cuz Will Howard…He is no slouch right now," Smith stated.
Texas brings a top-5 defense to this matchup, just like Ohio State. There are going to be athletes all over the place and it should be a battle. The Buckeyes are hot, we will soon see if they can stay hot. Ohio State’s win over Tennessee was impressive and the win over Oregon was even more impressive. If Ryan Day wants to win his first National Championship, it is going to take two more of those games from the Buckeyes.
Ohio State QB Will Howard’s admission after beating Oregon could signal bad news for the Texas Longhorns
He has some extra motivation.
