Ohio State and Notre Dame are just a couple of days away from battling it out for a National Championship.

Leading up to the game, Ohio State is favored to win by more than a touchdown en route to Ryan Day’s first National Championship.

Recently, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum took a shot at the Buckeye roster and how they made the big game with it

“I love Notre Dame’s story because they’re not playing for the national championship with Ole Miss‘ running back and Alabama‘s defensive back," Finebaum said on “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning”.

Now, Finebaum is giving a take that tells us that he is rolling with the Buckeyes on Monday night.

“I cannot imagine Notre Dame winning the game,” Finebaum said recently. “Something tells me I’ll probably hear that statement again Tuesday if I’m wrong. I just can’t [see it].”

Notre Dame has knocked off Indiana, Georgia without Carson Beck, and Penn State to get to this point. The Fighting Irish are a team that runs the ball well whether it is star RB Jeremiyah Love or QB Riley Leonard. Notre Dame goes as their top-flight defense goes against stopping the pass, which is where Ohio State will need to beat them.

There is a thought that the game between the two best teams was played last week when Ohio State overcame Texas and Jack Sawyer sealed the win late with perhaps one of the best plays in OSU history. Still, Ohio State has to actually go out and beat Notre Dame before that holds any real weight.

“I think Notre Dame is solid but they’re missing a couple of key components. I think Jeremiyah Love being banged up is a problem. I think losing a lineman is a problem. Their special teams are fantastic, but Ohio State is fantastic across the board,” Finebaum explained.

The final game has plenty of storylines available whether it is Marcus Freeman having played at Ohio State or the fact the Buckeyes looked at Leonard in the transfer portal. In just a couple of days, we will see it all play out.
