One of the most intriguing head coaching candidates of this cycle is a former New Orleans Saints assistant. Everyone around the league knows of Aaron Glenn at this point, and he's been a hot candidate for HC interviews recently.
The intrigue is well-deserved for the Detroit Lions defensive coordinator.
There have been some swirling discussions around social media regarding his preferred destination if Glenn does take a head coaching gig this offseason. Plenty of teams are interested in him, but where is he most interested in landing?
Aaron Glenn's interest
Earlier this week, Brian Costello reported that Glenn has "told people the Jets are his first choice if he were to be offered a head coaching position."
Saints insider Nick Underhill has heard a bit of a different story when it comes to Glenn's interest in HC jobs around the NFL. It's not so clear where the Lions DC wants to be next year yet.
I checked with someone familiar with his thinking, and they didn’t just shoot down that report. They vehemently shut it down. Said it is 100% false. And I believe them. That doesn’t mean he is coming here and isn’t going to New York. It just means that Glenn doesn’t have a preferred destination … yet.

Underhill also mentioned that Glenn remains interested in the Saints job. That hasn't changed, regardless of other murmurs around the league.
Glenn is determined to be himself during his HC interviews. As of now, he's interviewed with five different teams regarding their open head coach position: the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, and New Orleans Saints.
"The one thing that I get out of all these interviews is, man, I’m going to be myself and either you like it or you don’t. If you don’t, all good. I keep telling you guys, I have a great job here. And if you like it, if it’s an opportunity that I think is best for me and my family, then we’ll take a look at it. But had a really good time over the bye week looking at those but now we’re all locked in ready to go and play this game against Washington." — Aaron Glenn
Glenn was the Saints' defensive backs coach before joining Detroit as their DC. He also spent time with both the Saints and Jets during his playing days in the NFL.
