On Friday morning, the Associated Press released their All-Pro team voted on by 50 members of the national media and three Minnesota Vikings made the All-Pro team for the 2024 season.
- WR Justin Jefferson: 1st team (unanimous selection)
- LS Andrew DePaola: 1st team
- EDGE Andrew Van Ginkel: 2nd team
Justin Jefferson leads Vikings All-Pro selections
It shouldn't come as a surprise that Jefferson is an All-Pro selection. This is the second time he is a first-team All-Pro, as he was in 2022 when he also finished fifth in Most Valuable Player voting.
It was a great season for Jefferson, as he caught 103 passes for 1,533 yards and 10 touchdowns. It was the third season that Jefferson had over 100 catches and 1,500 yards, all of which he was honored as either a first-team or second-team All-Pro.
DePaola has been one of the league's best long-snappers for the last few seasons. He has been the NFC's long snapper in the Pro Bowl the last three years, along with first-team selections in 2022 and 2024, while being a second-team selection in 2023.
Van Ginkel is the final selection for the Vikings, as he tied with Denver Broncos EDGE Nik Bonitto for the final spot for the edge rusher position. Van Ginkel earned his first Pro Bowl not as a starter in 2024 and thrived across the board. He sacked the quarterback 11.5 times with 18.0 tackles for loss and two pick-sixes on screen passes that he jumped. He nearly got a pick-six against the Detroit Lions in week 18 that way along with one or two others he barely missed.
There were other vote-getters for the Vikings as well. You can tell that the Vikings had a great season when you look at the recognition.
- FB C.J. Ham (5 points, 1 first place): Ham getting votes is a positive. He didn't play many snaps this year, but was very good when he did play.
- RT Brian O'Neill (2 points): It's always going to be hard for O'Neill to break through with a very deep offensive line group in the NFL.
- EDGE Jonathan Greenard (13 points, 1 first place): Greenard was so close to making the All-Pro team, as he finished just five points behind Van Ginkel and Bonnito.
- ILB Blake Cashman (18 points, 1 first place): Cashman was so good all year and finished 21 points behind Indianapolis' Zaire Franklin. If Cashman had played all 17 games, he likely would have gotten second-team honors.
- CB Byron Murphy Jr. (20 points, 3 first place) was very close to making the second team, as New England's Christian Gonzalez only had 34 points. Murphy is a starter in the Pro Bowl Games for the NFC and was excellent all season.
- S Camryn Bynum (2 points): Bynum has played the best football of his career and has set himself up to get a great contract in free agency.
- ST Trent Sherfield (1 point): Sherfield was a stalwart for the Vikings on special teams all season, but finished behind multiple deserving candidates.
