Joe Milton was given an opportunity early during the New England Patriots' final game of the 2024-25 season against the Buffalo Bills.

And he certainly didn't waste it.

The rookie replaced Drake Maye on the second drive on Sunday. And on the first play, he faked the handoff to Antonio Gibson, rolling out to the right side and connecting with DeMario Douglas for 12 yards.

After a few more plays, the result of the drive was a 1 yard touchdown run for Milton, marking the rookie's first NFL touchdown.

Of course, he had to celebrate in the only way he knows how: a backflip.

The drive lasted 7 minutes and 18 seconds, resulting in 131 plays, including five first downs, for 55 yards.

All season, Milton has served as the backup quarterback, but signs pointed to him getting an opportunity in the regular season finale. And it was all but confirmed when inactives came out and Milton was not designated as the team's emergency third quarterback for the first time.

Plus, Jerod Mayo basically told everyone that Milton was going to play.

"He's been great and hopefully he comes out here and plays well," Mayo said on the 98.5 The Sports Hub pregame show.

For his first regular season NFL drive, this was quite the way to start.
