Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt was non-committal on his future with the New York Giants on Monday after news broke that general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll will return in 2025.
Hyatt, who just wrapped up his second season with the Giants, was a non-factor for New York in 2024 despite receiving significant praise from coaches before the season.
"We'll see," said Hyatt on Monday when asked if he expects more opportunities in 2025.
"We got some talks we gotta have, but we'll see," added Hyatt when asked if a change of scenery could be needed.
Hyatt, who won the Biletnikoff Award at Tennessee 2022 after a terrific junior season that included a five touchdown performance against Alabama, caught just eight passes for 62 yards in 2024. The former Vol caught 23 passes for 373 yards as a rookie in 2023.
One reason why Hyatt didn't see more opportunities for the Giants in 2024 is because New York chose to play veteran wide receiver Darius Slayton over him.
Slayton is set to be a free agent this offseason, which should open the door for more opportunities for Hyatt in 2025.
However, after the way the 2024 season went for Hyatt and the Giants, it's understandable that the former Tennessee standout wants some clarity on his role in the offense before committing to a future in New York.
