The Las Vegas Raiders 2024 season is over, and they have officially begun the offseason stuff that they need to get done. And, part of that means that they are going to have to address the 21 free agents they have waiting for an extension.
However, they have already begun signing extensions in some aspects. On Monday, according to the player's agent, they already signed one extension for a player who has been on the team for a few years now.
Raiders extend Dalton Wagner
According to his agent, Wagner and the Raiders have agreed to a contract extension.
Wagner is an offensive tackle currently playing for the Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL. Wagner played at the University of Arkansas, where he sat out his freshman year in 2017 as a redshirt. Throughout his time at Arkansas, Wagner made significant contributions to the team, starting in 11 games in 2018 and becoming a mainstay in the lineup by 2019.
His performance in 2020, during the abbreviated season due to the COVID-19 outbreak, was particularly commendable, playing in eight games with only three penalties, per Pro Football Focus. In 2022, he utilized an additional eligibility year granted due to the pandemic, securing first-team All-SEC recognition from Pro Football Focus and earning the role of team captain.
Despite expectations of being drafted in 2023, Wagner went undrafted but was soon picked up by the Raiders with a notably lucrative contract for an undrafted player. Unfortunately, his rookie season was marred by injury, placing him on injured reserve in August 2023, causing him to miss the entire year.
In 2024, after being released by the Raiders, he was re-signed to the practice squad. I say all of this, his college career stats and accomplishments because he hasn't really done anything with the Raiders yet.
But, the team had enough faith in him that they were able to get a deal done very quickly.

The Raiders have 13 unrestricted free agents, five restricted free agents, and three exclusive rights free agents.
