FOXBOROUGH, Mass – While the New England Patriots have made a major change, not everything is going to be different next season.

When speaking with reporters less than 24 hours after firing head coach Jerod Mayo, Kraft was asked who was going to be involved in the head coaching interviews aside from himself and Jonathan Kraft.

"Well, we'll have Alonzo Highsmith and Eliot [Wolf] be involved," Kraft said. "We're going to try to understand who can help us best get back to the playoffs."

So, that clearly means Wolf, who has served as the executive vice president of player personnel, isn't going anywhere. And Kraft confirmed that shortly after.

"We are looking for people working together and they will be staying on," he added.

While many have faulted Wolf for the Patriots' lack of talent on the roster, it was hard to lure people to New England last season given the changing times and all the unknowns.

And The MMQB's Albert Breer further explained that Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson planning to take the interview with the Patriots shows "the respect Eliot Wolf has league-wide."

So, Kraft is letting Wolf stay on.

But, the other big question is what he plans to do with the personnel department.

"Yeah, we'll wait until we bring that coach in," Kraft said. "Obviously, he's going to have big input on who the players are and who the coaches are. It'll be his decision.

A reporter followed that up by asking if the staff will continue to have their jobs and work at this time.

"Yes," He responded. "Look, we move fast and we're going to let him make those decisions."

So basically, he's waiting to make any decisions on the job statuses of the assistant coaches until they hire a new head coach.
