Welcome to the first playoff version of the Detroit Lions Mailbag. We've got so many questions this week, let's jump right into it.

I'm going to get super cliche here, it's the grit. This team had every excuse in the book to falter and be bad and they just refused to do it. They kept going no matter what happened. Whether it was injuries, suspensions, or five interceptions. It did not matter. That is very impressive.

I think we're inching ever closer to the Lions' "F them picks" era. I know everyone wants to believe they have Brad Holmes figured out, but the beautiful thing is that you probably don't.

It's all Super Bowl from here on out and that means if the Lions win it this year, they're going to make moves in order to win it again and if they don't win it, then they're going to make moves in order to make sure they do next year.

That's why I fully believe the Lions will start trading away bottom-of-the-round draft picks for players and start spending more money in free agency. The sustained success part is here. This team is incredibly young and they're all sticking around. Now it's time to get some more big pieces around them and go on a run.

Campbell can still be released by the Dolphins since he's still under contract there. If he is released, he will go through waivers, and teams above the Lions can claim him. It was always going to be a long shot, it seems even longer now.

At this point, it kind of looks like Campbell may just retire instead of going to another team for a month. At least that's the way the discussion seemed going into Sunday's game.

I know I said "F them picks" just a few seconds ago, but if the Lions do go forward and use these picks, I think you need to find your edge rusher pairing of the future for Aidan Hutchinson and an X receiver that can come in and play for the long haul. Love Tim Patrick, but this is not a long-term thing.

That's always a possibility, but at the end of the day, I don't think Carlton Davis is back this season. Campbell has not been super positive about it in recent comments. This was his last comment on the situation.

"It doesn’t look optimistic to get him back. Doesn’t mean it won’t, but it just – I don’t foresee that right now.”

My guess is that he's done for the year. We don't have any confirmation on that, but he's been able to have his clock started since December 16th, and it still hasn't happened yet. They might view him as a player that they can spend more time with next season and just see how the rest of the year goes.

Plus they have five IR returns left to use and I think they want to be as smart as possible with them.

It definitely brings some questions to light for sure. Davis was playing really well, but Robertson is too and he's a lot cheaper. That makes you wonder if the Lions stick with what they have at cornerback at this very moment and opt to build around that. Should be interesting to see what the Lions do in the offseason.
