On Monday, Black Monday happened, the day where usually every head coach that will be fired due to their 2024 season, is let go. The Las Vegas Raiders did not make a move on Monday, so everyone figured they would be keeping Antonio Pierce as their head coach. And, they even let him go to the podium on Monday to address the media.

Well, we were all wrong.

On Tuesday, the Las Vegas Raiders fired Pierce after having a 9-17 record, one loss worse than what Josh McDaniels had.

This comes after losing to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 18. The Raiders finished with just four wins on the year, and that just cannot happen, even if you're a firm believer that this team needed to tank. I think we all know that owner Mark Davis would not stand for that.

Now, after waiting a day, the Raiders are a bit behind and off-schedule on the interviewing process, trying to find a new head coach for their team. Other teams have already interviewed, or have interviews set up, for what seems like every coach available, and the Raiders haven't done anything.

They are starting a day late and could be in the same situation as last offseason where they had a chance to land Harbaugh, but sat on their hands the entire time.

This situation wasn't handled greatly, but now that it's done, the Raiders can look forward. Pierce won games against the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the New Orleans Saints this year.

The Raiders will retain general manager Tom Telesco.
