After 12 seasons in the National Football League, Micah Hyde has decided to hang up his cleats, he announced on Instagram.
The safety posted a heartfelt message including numerous photos of his playing career.
"So much LOVE and way too many THANKS!
From Fostoria to Iowa City to Green Bay to Buffalo, the goal was to leave an impact.
That was one helluva dream.
On to the next.
MH," he wrote.
The Bills also posted a video to honor Hyde's career.
Hyde began his career with the Green Bay Packers, being drafted in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. However, in 2017, he made the move to Buffalo and that's where he remained for the rest of his career.
He was even elected caption for the Bills in 2021, 2022 and 2023. During the 2024 season, he was a free agent for the majority of the time, but was signed to Buffalo's practice squad in December.
"We've always connected with this place," Hyde said of his return to the Bills December. "To see the reaction that people have with us signing back here is truly amazing. I think it's an indication to how my family, the foundation (Imagine for Youth), everything has given back to this community, and we'll continue to do that."
Hyde is a two-time All-Pro, along with being named to the Pro Bowl in 2017.
He finishes with a career 644 total tackles, five sacks, four forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, 24 interceptions, one touchdown, and 66 passes defended.
He had an incredible career and leaves behind a vital legacy.
