For the first time in NFL history, a sitting President will attend the Super Bowl.
It was announced on Tuesday that President Donald Trump intends to attend Sunday night's matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Vice Presidents have attended the game before, including Trump's former Vice President Mike Pence, who attended Super Bowl LI between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons. However, a sitting US President has never attended the game.
So, ahead of this historic occassion, Trump was asked a very important question: Who do you think is going to win Super Bowl LIX?
And while he didn't name a specific team, he did make his pick pretty clear.
"I don't wanna say, but there's a certain quarterback that seems to be a pretty good winner," Trump said per The Kansas City Star's Jeff Rosen.
Trump along with many others knows that betting against Patrick Mahomes is dangerous. Somehow the Chiefs quarterback always manages to come out on top.
And, the expectation is that he will find a way to do it on Sunday once again. Plus, with a win, Kansas City will become the first team in NFL history to three-peat.
Trump has made it known that he is a football fan, attending the Penn State vs. Ohio State game during his presidential campaign. But now he's taking it one step further.
Trump has commented on Patrick Mahomes and his family before. He also congratulated the Chiefs after their AFC Championship Game win over the Buffalo Bills, but he didn't do the same for the Philadelphia Eagles after their NFC Championship Game win over the Washington Commanders.
It wouldn't be the slightest bit shocking if he winds up rooting for Kansas City.
