Former Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Trey Smith is heading to his third straight Super Bowl thanks to the Kansas City Chiefs' 32-29 win against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game.
Smith, a sixth round selection by the Chiefs in the 2021 NFL Draft, is set to be a free agent after the 2024 season. But before Smith gets to free agency, he'll get a chance for his third Super Bowl ring when the Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans in Super Bowl LIX.
Trey Smith leaves reporter confused with his terrific locker room response after Chiefs' win against Bills
Smith, who has a reputation for being the Chiefs' "enforcer", left a reporter a bit confused on Sunday evening during an entertaining back and forth in Kansas City's locker room.
The former Vol was asked if the Chiefs know "what they got" by a reporter.
"Yeah, we got that dog in us, we know," responded Smith.
"What was the term you used?" asked the confused reporter in response.
"My bad," said a laughing Smith.
Near the end of the interview, Smith was asked to clarify what kind of dog.
"You know, maybe a little Cane Corso, Rottweiler, any type of dog that can sort of get after it a little bit," said Smith. "You know, Yorkie. Chihuahua. Chihuahuas can be a little snappy. We got it in us."
Anyone who has watched Smith play at either Tennessee or in Kansas City knows without a doubt that he has that dog in him.
