The Philadelphia Eagles could have fate on their side when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
That's because two key Eagles players have birthdays that fall on the day of the big game: Sunday, February 9.
Running back Saquon Barkley turns 28 years old on Super Bowl Sunday while rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean will be turning 22.
Not to mention that both are huge reasons why the Eagles have made it this far.
Barkley finished his 2024 regular season leading the league with 2,005 rushing yards. He not only earned a Pro Bowl and All-Pro nod for his outstanding performance but was also named an MVP and Offensive Player of the Year finalist.
Barkley then added another 442 rushing yards and five touchdowns through three playoff games to help Philly reach a Super Bowl berth.
As for DeJean, the 21-year-old finished his rookie year with 51 tackles, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries. He was also named a finalist for Defensive Rookie of the Year.
DeJean logged six tackles and two pass deflections in the Eagles' NFC title win over the Washington Commanders.
Perhaps one of DeJean's birthday wishes is that he hopes to see Eagles fans show up in New Orleans for the Super Bowl just as they did at the Linc last Sunday.
"It's crazy that we get to play in the Super Bowl — It doesn't even feel real," DeJean said after the victory. "[Eagles fans] are amazing. They show up to every game, and I know they're going to show up in New Orleans too."
The obvious birthday wish of DeJean's is to, of course, win the Super Bowl — which he and Barkley were born to do.
