The Detroit Lions are wasting no time getting to work filling the coaching holes that have just been left by Ben Johnson, Aaron Glenn, and Terrell Williams. They just hired Kacy Rodgers to be their new defensive line coach and now we have the first announced interview for the DC spot.

It's a name Lions fans likely remember because, at one point, he was a big free-agency signing for the Lions. It's former Detroit and University of Michigan linebacker Larry Foote.

Foote won two Super Bowls as a player with the Steelers. One of which with Lions receiver Antwaan Randle-El. He also won one with Randle-El as a coach in 2020.

Foote played one year with the Lions in 2009 and was one of the Lions' big free-agent signings that year. Ultimately he was on a one-year deal and went back to the Steelers the next year.

Footer got into coaching with the Cardinals the year after his retirement and he's been climbing up the ranks ever since. Right now he's the Buccaneers inside linebackers coach. For a team that is really high on their linebackers, it makes sense that the Lions would be interested here.
