Welcome to SKOL Search 2025!
This is the fifth year I have done SKOL Search with the sole mission being to find NFL Draft prospects for the Minnesota Vikings. Throughout the entire process, this will be the most comprehensive draft guide with a focus on the Vikings.
Each year, I scout incoming draft prospects from a neutral perspective and try to see how they could fit with Minnesota. This will be general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah's fourth NFL Draft and we have a good sense of what he likes in a prospect.
Going into the offseason, the Vikings have just three official selections with a fourth likely coming with a compensatory selection in the third round. However they choose to use them, they need to make the most out of their limited resources.
TreVeyon Henderson
- Ohio State
- Height: 5100
- Weight: 208
- Class: Fourth-year Senior
- Recruiting info: 5-star recruit in 2022 class per 247 Sports
- Stats: 578 attempts, 3,712 yards, 6.4 YPC, 42 touchdowns, 77 receptions, 853 yards, 11.1 YPR, 6 touchdowns
- Games watched: Marshall 2024, Penn State 2024, Oregon 2024, Iowa 2024
Strengths
- Vision: Henderson knows where to go with the football. He displays great patience and sets up blockers really well in open space.
- Burst: Whatever holes open up for Henderson, he bursts through them and attacks the second level quickly, putting defenders in conflict. Said burst allows him to manipulate and punish poor angles, as he gets on defenders quickly.
- Pass Blocking: Henderson might be the best pass-blocking back in this class. He attacks defenders with intent and malice and has enough sand in his pants to handle edge rushers and linebackers.
- Contact Balance: Despite having plenty of athleticism, Henderson has a unique element of running with power. Averaged nearly 4.0 YPC after contact and runs through arm tackles easily.
Weaknesses
- Injury History: That's been the biggest thing with Henderson over his career. He missed five games in 2022 with a broken bone in his foot and in 2023 with an undisclosed injury. That could push Henderson down the board.
- Inconsistent Breakaway Speed: Henderson has displayed the ability to get away from defenders with 15 runs of 15+ yards in his career. He's been at his most impactful in this area in a timeshare, but the inconsistency has been an issue.
- Pass Catching: Despite being a receiver at the high school level, Henderson isn't well-versed out of the backfield. He can do the basic things but there isn't anything next level on his profile right now.

Henderson is a really impressive running back that is well-rounded and explosive. There are a lot of running backs in this class, but he is arguably the most well-rounded prospect. If he stays healthy, Henderson could be very impactful from day one.
The Vikings could use a back like Henderson in their room, especially one who can be both consistent and hit a home run. Pairing Henderson with Aaron Jones for the next year or two is a very appealing element for the Vikings offense.
Selecting Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty in the 2025 NFL Draft could singlehandedly fix the Vikings’ run game
The Heisman Trophy runner-up could be the key to the Vikings’ future
Iowa RB Kaleb Johnson could be an intriguing fit for the Minnesota Vikings in the 2025 NFL Draft
