For the last several months, Tennessee Vols fans embraced country music singer Jelly Roll as a legitimate Volunteers fan.

Jelly Roll's Vols "fandom", however, is being questioned after he was spotted rooting against Tennessee on Saturday.

The singer, who is from Nashville, appeared to be all-in on the Vols during football season. Jelly Roll was even on the sideline at Neyland in Tennessee gear at one point during the season.

Now that it's basketball season, it appears that Jelly Roll's allegiances have shifted a bit.

The popular singer was spotted in Memorial Gymnasium rooting for Vanderbilt during the Commodores' win against Tennessee on Saturday.

Ouch. That's gotta hurt for Vols fans who are also Jelly Roll fans.

Ultimately, I think Jelly Roll is just a good-natured guy who enjoys rooting for the home-state teams. It's a different kind of fandom than the die-hard Tennessee fandom of a singer like Morgan Wallen, but I think there's room for both in the Vols fan base.

Jelly Roll, however, should be prepared to hear from plenty of disappointed Vols fans. For some Tennessee fans, rooting for Vanderbilt over the Vols is a sin that can't be forgiven.
