The Las Vegas Raiders are so close to getting their head coach and general manager. But, there are a few more in-person interviews that need to happen.

According to Jonathan Jones of CBS, the Raiders have put in a request to interview Giants Assistant GM Brandon Brown, and according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic, the Raiders are set to meet with him on Monday.

Brandon Brown is currently the assistant general manager for the New York Giants, a role he assumed in 2022 under the guidance of general manager Joe Schoen. His journey in the NFL started with an internship at the New York Jets in 2012, followed by positions at Boston College and the Indianapolis Colts, before making a significant impact with a five-year tenure at the Philadelphia Eagles. There, he climbed to the role of director of player personnel by 2021.

Here's the deal: Brandon Brown isn't exactly coming from a place of failure, but let's keep it real: what significant achievements has the New York Giants organization shown that would make his hiring particularly exciting? What impressive roster construction via free agency or the NFL Draft can we point to that would signal this as a blockbuster appointment?

His first year with the team saw the Giants improve from a disappointing 4-13 to a 9-7-1 record, clinching a playoff spot for the first time in six years, a testament to his effectiveness in talent acquisition and integration.

But, his participation in the NFL's Front Office & General Manager Accelerator Program underscores his trajectory toward becoming a future NFL general manager, and it's only a matter of time before that happens. Now, should it be with the Raiders, well, that's not for me to decide.
