Finding a head coach in the NFL is a tenuous time for front offices around the league. For the New Orleans Saints, they are hammering out interviews and parsing through candidates for their HC position.

A couple of candidates are set to garner a closer look from the Saints in regards to the job.

Kafka, Weaver to interview again

The Saints will interview New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka and Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver for a second time this week. These will be in-person for both candidates.

With those interviews, New Orleans will fulfill the NFL's Rooney Rule which states, "Clubs must conduct an in-person interview with at least two external diverse — minority and/or female — candidates for any GM or head coaching interview."

The Saints have already conducted first interviews with a handful of others HC candidates, too.

Aaron Glenn update

The Detroit Lions DC is set to interview in person with the Saints this week, too.

He is expected to interview for the HC job with the New York Jets on Tuesday. Then, he'll get another interview with the Saints on Wednesday if no deal is reached, according to Albert Breer.

This past weekend, we learned that the Dallas Cowboys also share interest in the gleaming coordinator.

He's gotten interviews consistently over the past week, but now, Glenn is able to interview in person with the Lions' latest playoff defeat. That will allow teams to take another step forward with him, and that is quite notable in a coaching search and hiring process.

Glenn getting hired anywhere will be the first big domino to fall in the coaching world, as long as it happens before the Ben Johnson hiring. The two Lions coordinators are considered the key movers in this league-wide situation.

Glenn is considered a top candidate in both New York and New Orleans. We will see how that situation shakes out in the coming days as well.
