We are heading into championship weekend with just four teams left competing to win a Super Bowl. The Minnesota Vikings have come up short of making the Super Bowl every season since 1976. They lost the Super Bowl that year to the Oakland Raiders.

As things sit going into the 2025 season, the Vikings are theoretically closer to making the Super Bowl now than they have been in years. Can they take the next step? Only time will tell, but the next step forward in that process is going to be with the NFL Draft.

In our first 7-round mock draft, we gave the Vikings Ole Miss DT Walter Nolen, and this one took a slightly different direction.

24. Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M

This mock draft didn't fall the Vikings' way to get a player that fills a dire need. However, free agency is likely to fill a lot of the holes on the Vikings roster. Once you have those holes filled, it's all about getting really good football players.

One of the fascinating players in this class is Stewart. He is an excellent prospect at 6'6, 290 lbs, and has incredible athleticism. The Vikings don't need a traditional edge rusher, but that's not what Stewart is. He can move inside, play 5T on the defensive line in an odd front, and stand up as an edge rusher. Taking a player with that kind of versatility would elevate the offense of the Vikings, especially with the NASCAR package that Brian Flores loves to use.

97. Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State

The running back position is one that the Vikings need to upgrade immediately. They are likely to bring back Aaron Jones, but he's not the guy for a long term. Cam Akers is in the same boat and the organization seems to have soured on Ty Chandler.

Judkins just finished a National Championship campaign with the Buckeyes and he's a powerful runner. Judkins thrives in between the tackles with his low center of gravity and enough juice to break off long runs.

139. Jared Wilson, C, Georgia

The entire Vikings fanbase wants to see an upgrade at center. Garrett Bradbury has struggled since he was taken with a first-round pick and it's been really frustrating. Taking a player to potentially replace Bradbury is a smart move.

Wilson is an athletic center who thrived at Georgia. There are some limitations with him, but taking him at the top of the fifth round is a good bet to make.

161. Upton Stout, DB, Western Kentucky

The cornerback and safety rooms are currently depleted. Only Josh Metellus is currently under contract of the top six players in the defensive backfield. Finding ways to fortify the units.

One of the things that the Vikings need in the defensive backfield is players that can be sticky in man coverage. Stout is a little small but he can do that and then some. He'd be a good bet in round five and a core special teams player.
