Who could they have their eye on? Which need must be addressed early? I compiled a tracker with quite a few picks for the Saints' first pick from mocks around the draft scene. Check out who many analysts have them picking at nine.
New Orleans Saints 2025 mock draft tracker
Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss (A to Z Sports)
Another shocker with Jaxson Dart not only going in the top ten but jumping Shedeur Sanders as QB two. This isn't what I would do if I was the Saints, I would take Sanders. But there are many around the league who believe the Saints are high on Dart, and I am starting to believe he is someone they are seriously considering at pick nine.
Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona (Player Profiler)
"McMillan has received as much scrutiny as anyone this draft cycle. But at his core, he is a player who has the size (6-4, 219 pounds), length, and speed (4.58 40-yard dash) to function as a true X receiver in today's NFL. McMillan posted 174 receptions (on 266 targets) for 2,721 yards and 18 touchdowns over his final two collegiate seasons. He has an excellent catch radius and frequently showed the ability to make physical catches over the middle of the field during his time with Arizona." – Dan Fornek
Will Johnson, CB, Michigan (Pro Football Network)
"The Saints finished with a top-12 pass defense by success rate and EPA per play. However, with Lattimore and Adebo both playing elsewhere in 2025, this is a cornerback room that lacks overall talent and depth. A fluid, physical defender with excellent size and length, Johnson pairs his natural tools with sharp instincts and a fearless mentality in coverage. His ability to recognize routes and play aggressively at the catch point allows him to consistently disrupt plays and separate himself from other corners. With a high football IQ and true CB1 potential, Johnson is a polished, pro-ready talent who could make an immediate impact in New Orleans." – Pro Football Network
Will Campbell, OL, LSU (The Athletic)
"Drafting a cornerback would make sense for the Saints, but Hunter will be long gone, and this seems too early for Michigan's Will Johnson or Texas' Jahdae Barron. Helping new coach Kellen Moore by bolstering the O-line is a good alternative. Campbell, who's from Monroe, La., ran a 4.98 40 with a 1.76 10-yard split to go with a 32-inch vertical and 9-5 broad jump. Some may take issue with his arm length — measured at 32 5/8 inches at the combine and 33 inches at LSU's pro day — but he won't look overmatched on the edge in the NFL, according to the coaches I've spoken to." — Bruce Feldman
Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado (Player Profiler)
"…I don't see how the New Orleans Saints pass on Sanders here. Shedeur Sanders has the accuracy, poise and touch teams want in a quarterback. He'd be a great fit in Moore's offense, and I like the idea of him pushing Carr for the starting job." — Brentley Weissman
Armand Membou, OT, Missouri (NFL.com)
"The Saints could go cornerback here (it's their biggest need), but in this scenario they aim to shore up the offensive line with Membou, who can step immediately at guard and eventually move over to tackle." — Maurice Jones-Drew
Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas (USA TODAY)
"Sanders' brief slide ends within the top 10 as New Orleans takes another swing at bringing in its quarterback of the future. ChatGPT thinks the Saints are getting "tremendous value" by bringing in "a high-upside QB prospect with proven poise and experience" with the ninth overall pick." — Jack McKessy
Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State (The Athletic)
"The 2025 draft class features another great tight end group, and Warren — a true three-down player with the potential to be a dominant run blocker — is leader of the pack. The tight end position has evolved so much in the last 10 years, and Warren has the talent worthy of a top-10 pick." — Nick Baumgardner
Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M (On the Aggregate)
"With the Derek Carr injury coming to light, this has become a popular projected landing spot for Shedeur Sanders or Jaxson Dart. Saints beat Nick Underhill doesn't see that as the most likely outcome. If we look at the draft history of Mickey Loomis, nine of his 14 first-round picks have been offensive or defensive linemen. Furthermore, their first-rounders had an average RAS of 9.26. Stewart has a perfect 10 RAS, and would fill a need."
These are a handful of options for the Saints in round one. It is officially draft week. We will know who the Saints pick in round one in less than four days.
Saints emerge as betting favorites to select Derek Carr’s replacement with their first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft
The New Orleans Saints are in the rookie quarterback market. That piece of their 2025 NFL Draft plan under Kellen Moore seems fairly clear. Now, they could take one in round one or round four. Either would make some sense, and both options remain on the table. That being said, the continued reports surrounding New […]
