New Orleans is the host location for Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

During his recent press conference ahead of the matchup for the Lombardi Trophy, the NFL commissioner showed some love for the city of New Orleans. Fans will probably appreciate it, too.

Goodell pays respect to New Orleans

"This is a place that's sort of perfect for the Super Bowl."

“This community has such a way of putting an event on.”

— Goodell

Goodell also mentioned the important stadium upgrades that have helped the environment at games in New Orleans. He also noted that the community plays a big role in how well they host events, including one like the Super Bowl.

The Commissioner also sympathetically discussed the New Year's attack on Bourbon Street. He focused on how the NFL makes efforts to help people cope with those sort of tragedies and traumatic events.

Including this year, this is the third time that the Super Bowl has been played in The Big Easy since 2002. Super Bowl XXXI was also played in New Orleans in 1997.

The Chiefs and Eagles will face off in the Super Bowl in New Orleans on Sunday at 5:30 P.M. CST.
