Five-star WR Chris Henry Jr. has been committed to Ohio State since July of 2023. Since he has been committed, there have been long rumors of his commitment flipping elsewhere.
Recently, the star Mater Dei wideout shut down one Michigan recruiting idea that will have Ohio State fans feeling at ease.
The idea of Bryce Underwood and Henry on the same field together is a dream scenario for any Michigan fan. Henry shut that idea down with a simple photo of Ohio State wide receivers coach Brian Hartline. It may have been an example of Henry showing Michigan that Ohio State has something they do not.
Henry was the first commitment in the class of 2026 for the Buckeyes and the son of the late Chris Henry did play his high school football in Cincinnati until the last high school season he moved to the national powerhouse in California.
Schools like Oregon and USC are going to continue to recruit the talented 6-foot-4 high school senior up until signing day. The Buckeyes will have to continue to keep Henry committed for nearly a year.
Michigan has never been a real player in the recruitment of Henry and the idea was that NIL money would talk like it did with Underwood while he was committed to LSU. The difference is that Henry is not an in-state kid that the Wolverines should have had in the first place.
Ohio State has a chance to go from the Jeremiah Smith-led era to a wide receivers room led by Henry in a couple of seasons.
