Out of the eight draft picks the Dallas Cowboys made back in April, only one didn't stick around for the regular season in any shape or form: Seventh-round pick defensive tackle Justin Rogers.

Ahead of the Cowboys' final stretch of the season, he's back in the silver and navy. The Cowboys re-signed him ahead of Week 16, per Patrik Walker from DallasCowboys.com.

Oddly enough, Rogers isn't being signed to the practice squad but straight to the 53-man roster, instead.

The news means Rogers could be looking at a bigger role than expected right off the bat. Although I wouldn't expect him to suit up for Sunday night's matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, perhaps he'll get some playing time in the last couple of games.

Rogers, a true nose tackle at 346 pounds, is listed as the heaviest player on the Cowboys, even above starting nose tackle Mazi Smith.

Speaking of Smith, it's worth noting that he was listed on Wednesday's injury report with a back injury and missed practice. That's happened before this season and he's played through it but the timing of Rogers' signing could mean something is up with Smith. Only time will tell.

Following the preseason, Rogers was waived by the Cowboys before he headed to the Cincinnati Bengals' practice squad. Now he reunites with Mike Zimmer and Dallas with a legit shot at playing.
