Tennessee Vols big play wide receiver Dont'e Thornton will be moving on from Rocky Top after the 2024 season.
Thornton, who transferred from Oregon to Tennessee after the 2022 season, is the Vols' leading wide receiver this season with 25 receptions for 647 yards and six touchdowns.
The Baltimore native is averaging a ridiculous 25.9 yards per reception.
It won't be easy for Josh Heupel and his staff at Tennessee to replace that kind of field-stretching production.
There's a player currently in the NCAA transfer portal, however, who could fit the bill.
Charlotte transfer wide receiver O'Mega Blake (what a great football name) entered the portal recently after a huge redshirt junior season. Blake caught 32 passes for 795 yards and nine touchdowns in 2024. He averaged 24.8 yards per reception.
That's exactly the kind of big play threat that Tennessee could use with Thornton set to move on.
Blake is a former three-star recruit from Rock Hill, SC who signed with South Carolina during the 2021 recruiting cycle. He spent three seasons with the Gamecocks before transferring to Charlotte ahead of the 2024 season.
According to On3, Oklahoma State is one of the programs showing early interest in Blake. Tennessee would be wise to check in on the big play receiver to see if there's any mutual interest.
