One of the craziest wins in recent memory for the Cincinnati Bengals was unfortunately accompanied by a couple key injuries for two starters on offense.

Running back Chase Brown was injured near the end of the fourth quarter after sliding short of the goal line to prevent the Denver Broncos from getting the ball back at the end of the game. Brown's injury was essentially in vain as the Bengals scored on the very next play since an injury timeout had to be taken on Brown's behalf. He was replaced by Khalil Herbert.

Earlier in the game, right tackle Amarius Mims had an early exit and was replaced by Devin Cochran, who's now played in the last three games.

Head coach Zac Taylor had updates for both players after the Bengals' overtime victory.

Chase Brown, Amarius Mims injury updates

Taylor told reporters in his postgame presser that Brown suffered an ankle sprain on his near-touchdown but doesn't know the severity of it just yet.

"I don't know, I just know it's an ankle sprain," Taylor said of Brown. "We'll see from there."

Taylor had a similar answer when asked about Mims, who had been playing with a club wrapped over his broken right hand. Mims left the game due to the same hand.

"I don't know," Taylor said of Mims' injury severity. "It's the same hand he went into the game with so we'll have to see."

Now that the season is not over, the Bengals will need to carefully monitor each player's injury. Brown has been carrying the offense's rushing attack since Zack Moss went on Injured Reserve in early November. He's 10 rushing yards shy of 1,000 with seven touchdowns on 229 carries.

Mims has been the team's starting right tackle since Week 4 and has allowed just two pressures in the last three weeks. Cochran has struggled playing for both him and left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. in recent weeks.

Expect both players to appear on this week's injury report leading up to Week 18's showdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
