For teams that have already locked up a playoff spot, it's very customary that they bench some of their key starters and give the backups a chance to play.

However, the same can be said for a team with only three wins that's already eliminated from playoff contention and currently holds the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

After the team's embarrassing loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, head coach Jerod Mayo was asked if he has considered sitting Drake Maye in the team's regular season finale

"I would say right now, everything is in consideration, and we'll see how the week goes," he told reporters.

Maye has already suffered one concussion this season, and actually had to leave the Chargers game for a period of time after he took a hit to the head. While he did come back in, why risk the future of the franchise in a game that really doesn't matter?

And with that, they could give Joe Milton an opportunity, since the rookie quarterback hasn't had a chance to play since the preseason.

"It's absolutely a possibility, but like I said earlier, all things are still under consideration," Mayo added.

If the team loses to the Bills, the Patriots will lock up the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. So many are hoping for a loss.

But for this team, a win might be better in the grand scheme of things just based on how frustrated the players are.
