The Dallas Cowboys have had a rough 2024 and with one more game left to go in what has been a painfully long season, they're close to turning the page and moving on to the next year.

But even then, in the heels of a 41-7 blowout loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, superstar Micah Parsons understands things won't be getting any easier anytime soon. That starts with the fact that the Cowboys are already worried about long-term injuries like DeMarvion Overshown's and Trevon Diggs'.

"One, we’re going to have to get healthy," Parsons told reporters when asked about reclaiming the division. "We’ve got three or four starters who aren’t coming back until mid next season. We’ve got to plan for that. We’ve got to get healthy, and we’ve got to keep coming together. It’s going to be a tough point."

And here's the thing: Winning the NFC East has always been tough enough. Since 2004, no team was won the division in back to back years. And now? The Cowboys' rivals are starting to look quite scary.

The 13-3 Eagles and 11-5 Washington Commanders are both headed to the playoffs and they've got the pieces, particularly at quarterback, to keep punching their ticket in every year.

"As far as the division, it’s going to be tough," Parsons added. "I look at Jayden Daniels as a franchise quarterback, so I’m going to be facing him for the next 18 years of my life. And you’ve got (Jalen Hurts), who’s a franchise guy, so every team pretty much has a franchise guy that I’m going to have to get used to."

Though the New York Giants appear to be one step behind the rest of the division, Parsons knows if they play their cards right and land a franchise quarterback next year, it will only get tougher.

"And then, the Giants, they might go ahead and get a franchise guy," Parsons said. "It’s going to be a very difficult next couple of years."
