The Denver Broncos needed one win. They had three games left: against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Kansas City Chiefs. They needed to win one of those games to make the playoffs. And in the first half of the game, it looked like they were well on their way to doing that against the Chargers.

The offense started the game on fire, scoring 21 points in the first half. Usually, the offense starts games slowly and ends on fire. In this game, that was not the case, as the offense only scored six more points the whole game, with two field goals each quarter.

The Broncos still have some work to do. It's obvious they are not the favorites to win the whole thing, but, this is still supposed to be the second season of a rebuilding year. This is the first year with a rookie quarterback, and making the playoffs alone would be the first time to do so since the Broncos won the Super Bowl over the Carolina Panthers.

Even with all of that, head coach Sean Payton has one thing on his mind.

“I'll give you the message when I have the message," Payton told reporters when asked what the message is in the locker room now. "We have to make the corrections in this game, and then we get back to preparing for Cincinnati. We’ve got to find a way to get the 10th win. We know that. I wasn't worried about messages after the game in the locker room.”

It's clear this team knows that all that matters from here on out is getting that tenth win. You get the win, and you get in. It's that simple, but obviously, easier said than done. The Bengals are no slouch, even in a down year like this one. The Broncos will have to work for this tenth win.

Luckily, they usually bounce back from losses fairly well. Payton, who's pretty focused on getting this tenth win, will have the team right.
