History Made
The Lions have been a team since 1934 and they have never won more than 12 games. This year they made it happen. With the Lions' 13th win, they set a new franchise record and continue to re-write their record book.
Goff Report
A really solid game for Goff on Sunday. He looked so sharp in this one. Goff completed 71.9% of his passes for 336 yards and three touchdowns. A big upgrade over his Thanksgiving game and a second straight banger for him.
While the Lions lost last week, I think it's more than fair to put Goff back near the top of the MVP conversation after his performance against the Bills and then this great game against the Bears.
Taking the dive
Ok, there is no way that both Jared Goff and Jahmyr Gibbs falling down here isn't totally staged. It has to be. It brought the Bears' defense in and got LaPorta wide open for the 21-yard touchdown. Absolutely brilliant.
Even though we getting money, you can Gibby some more
The Wal-Mart Busta Rhymes commercial inspired that. I've never felt so marketed to in my life.
Anyways, Jahymr Gibbs had himself a day in Chicago. He ran for 109 yards on 4.7 yards per carry and a touchdown and caught four passes for 45 yards. A great day for the Lions' sole number one guy now.
Jamo taunt
Loo, I know that it looked super weak and all that, but Williams clearly said something or did something that the guy with the flag in his pocket didn't like. When you have the eyes on you, you have to lay low a little. The good thing is that we got another parental moment with Williams.
Jamo fast
Don't worry, he made up for the taunting call later when he caught an 82-yard touchdown pass. On top of that, he added more catches and more yards and finished the day with 5 catches for 143 yards and 1 touchdown.
Red Zone
The Lions had a lot of red zone trouble against the Bears on Thanksgiving. They went 2-5 in that game. The Lions again went 2-5 on the Bears in the red zone in this game. There's a reason for it though, the Bears were allowing scores on just 36% of their opponent's red zone drives at home.
Amik
What a day for Robertson on the outside. He got moved there this week and he did not disappoint. He forced a fumble in the first quarter and had two nice pass breakups. There were some growing pains though. He allowed three catches for 61 yards on five targets.
Pass rush
This was one of the big concerns when it comes to the defense, can they get to the quarterback or at least get pressure? The Lions fought hard in this one and they were able to get 17 pressures and two sacks on a beat-up Bears offensive line. We'll see what happens next week when the Lions have to get pressure on Brock Purdy and the 49ers.
