Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck has already endured a difficult 2024 season, but the latest injury update on his elbow bodes especially poorly. Travis May of A to Z Sports reported Beck's elbow injury could keep him sidelined through the entire 2025 NFL Draft process or even longer. The timeline of his UCL injury could be up to 11 months.

The timetable for Beck's recovery includes major differences. Injury experts told May his range could be between five and 11 months, depending on what exactly would be repaired. Obviously, teams will dock Beck if he misses most of the 2025 NFL season, and his play has already hurt his stock.

The 2025 NFL Draft is already hurting at quarterback, and Beck is a top-five signal-caller in this class. Even with the injury, Beck's pro outlook is better than most others, even after his efficiency and play under pressure has cratered.

Beck has clearly fallen behind Shedeur Sanders and Cameron Ward. Our team prefers rolling the dice on Jalen Milroe rather than going with Beck. But then the conversation pits Beck against Quinn Ewers and other flawed prospects.

Even before the injury, I had Beck falling into the middle of Day 2 as a fringe top-100 pick. I realize I'm likely lower on him than the NFL, but is it worthwhile for Beck to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, return to Georgia for his final year of eligibility, or transfer elsewhere?

I recently dove into Beck's poor play and the drop in his isolated performance from 2023 to 2024. The crux of it was already concerning. But more clarity on his elbow injury is potentially devastating.

Why major elbow injury puts Carson Beck's career at Georgia at crossroads

Now that the world is aware of how severe Carson Beck's elbow injury is, and Beck will miss at least the College Football Playoff quarterfinal round, his future at Georgia must be examined. Viewed as a potential first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft prior to this year, this fall hasn't exactly gone as planned.  […]

Georgia has to consider what they want out of Beck moving forward. If Gunner Stockton plays well, and it sounds as if he's struggled in practice leading up to their first College Football Playoff game, then that could influence their decision to push Beck out.

On the flip side, Beck could be viewed as the steadying hand, and returning to school gives Beck the chance to play for a few months and try to implement anything he learns in the classroom while healing.

When considering the timeframe of the injury and the likelihood of Beck needing time to work back into game shape, maybe entering the 2025 NFL Draft as a damaged product makes the most sense. At least he'd be settled in with a staff that has bought into his recovery.

However, it's clearly a difficult situation without a perfect pathway and resolution. This is the nightmare of every prospect, as Beck's now at the mercy to a freakish injury after a season went sideways as it began.
