The Chicago Bears are tired of losing games and having entire promising seasons get derailed by losing streaks the team never seems to break.

Amid a seven game losing streak, the Bears were finally eliminated from playoff contention on Sunday without even playing a game following the Washington Commanders win over the New Orleans Saints.

At this point, there's nothing left to play for but pride for the players in the locker room who are desperate to find another win in 2024, even though a win at this point just ruins the team's shot at another top draft pick.

But, that's not something the players themselves care about. Right now, they only care about winning and putting an end to the seven game losing streak, but that's not the only losing streak the Bears can put to bed on Monday Night Football.

Heading into tonight's matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, the Bears have lost eight consecutive true road games, not counting the team's win in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Coincidentally enough, the last road win for the Bears was in Minnesota on a Monday Night Football game back in Week 12 of the 2023 season.

The Bears will now return to U.S. Bank Stadium looking for a similar outcome against a far superior Vikings' team. In last year's matchup in Minnesota, the Vikings were 6-5 going into the game with Josh Dobbs at quarterback. Going into tonight's game, the Vikings are 11-2 with quarterback Sam Darnold.

However, the Bears managed to keep things close last time around after being able to take the Vikings into overtime at Soldier Field before ultimately losing. The key to coming away with a victory this time around will come from starting quickly on offense, something the team hasn't been able to do virtually all season long.

A big way to do that is by avoiding negative plays such as turnovers, sacks, and penalties while also testing the defense with shot plays added into the game plan.

On defense the key will be to create turnovers and make Darnold flustered in the pocket. I'm keeping my eye on cornerback Kyler Gordon, who funny enough has recorded an interception in each of his two career games on a Monday night.

Last week against the San Francisco 49ers, it was easy to see early on what kind of energy the team was going to play with, and it wasn't a good one. Hopefully we see a more fired up team on both sides of the ball right out of the gate later tonight.
