Saquon Barkley has been having an incredible season with the Philadelphia Eagles.

He has been unstoppable, already having a season-high 314 carries for 1,838 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns, along with 21 receptions for 276 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.

With only two regular season games remaining, Barkley needs 268 yards to break the single-season rushing record that Eric Dickerson currently holds with 2,105 yards.

But when speaking with the Los Angeles Times, Dickerson didn't hold back about how close Barkley is to breaking his record.

"I don’t think he’ll break it. But if he breaks it, he breaks it. Do I want him to break it? Absolutely not. I don’t pull no punches on that. But I’m not whining about it. He had 17 games to do it? Hey, football is football. That’s the way I look at it. If he’s fortunate to get over 2,000 yards and get the record, it’s a great record to have."

However, Dickerson didn't hesitate to point out one very interesting thing about how he obtained his record.

"O.J. Simpson was my favorite player. He went over 2,000 yards in 14 games. It took me 15 games to get to 2,000. I had one extra game to play. Getting to 2,000 is an accomplishment in itself. I got close to that three other times."

In the final two games, Barkley will need to average 134 rushing yards in order to break the record. And with all signs pointing to Jalen Hurts missing Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, it means that the Eagles will rely on Barkley a lot more when it comes to the run game.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
