Michael Jordan had spent almost the entire 2023 season on the Packers' practice squad. A former fourth-round pick, he has been in the NFL since 2019 and has played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Carolina Panthers.
This year, Jordan was with the New England Patriots — and with a significant role. He started 11 games at left guard for the Patriots, with 12 appearances. In 2024, Jordan has played 683 snaps at left guard and one as a sixth offensive lineman.
According to PFF, Michael Jordan had a 51.4 grade — including a decent 60.4 pass block grade. The run block, though, has been questionable (44.8 run block grade).
The Patriots and the Packers share some intriguing scouting DNA. Former Packers executive Eliot Wolf is the Patriots' general manager and executive vice president of player personnel. This year, New England has signed center Lecitus Smith off the Packers' practice squad and former Packers tackle Caleb Jones to their PS.
The Packers have had issues with the interior of the o-line since first-round rookie Jordan Morgan got hurt — he’s on IR and is now eligible to return. Beyond him, the only IOL on the 53-man roster is rookie center Jacob Monk, who has been inactive on gameday throughout most of the regular season. On Thursday, Sean Rhyan left the game for a snap and the Packers had to put tackle Kadeem Telfort in at right guard. Now, they have an extra experienced option in case of emergency.
