Future Hall of Famer Tom Brady is widely recognized as the greatest quarterback of all-time, but Patrick Mahomes is well on his way to building a case to unseat him for that title.

At just 29-years-old, Mahomes has plenty of time to continue to compile stats, awards, and championships so long that he stays healthy. He is ahead in most categories when comparing his pace to Brady's. For example, earlier this season Mahomes reached the 30,000 passing-yard mark faster than any other quarterback in NFL history, taking him just 103 games.

Mahomes has also reached 100 passing touchdowns faster than any other quarterback. In comparison to Brady, Mahomes has the same amount of Super Bowls and one more MVP than Brady had 29-years-old. Mahomes is also leading another impressive category over Brady – the highest winning percentage against his own division of all-time.

Our friend Price Carter of Arrowhead Addict took to X to point out that with the Kansas City Chiefs' 19-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night, Mahomes now has a career .875 career winning percentage over the AFC West. That is better than Brady's .804 career winning percentage against the AFC East, which was the highest ever for a player against one division at the time of Brady's retirement.

Nobody thought we would see the level of dominance that Brady had over the AFC East again, but here we are with Mahomes. The similarities between the two are uncanny. Just as we've seen the AFC West do since Mahomes took over as Kansas City's starter in 2018, teams in the AFC East underwent constant coaching and quarterback changes to try to keep up with Brady and the New England Patriots.

It will be fun to see if Mahomes can maintain his dominance, or if it eventually drops under Brady's. Mahomes is undefeated against the AFC West so far this year, with one game against the Denver Broncos left to go. If the Chiefs win that game, it will be the third time they have swept the AFC West during the Mahomes' era.

Mahomes' five losses against the division have been to the Chargers twice (2018, 2021), the Las Vegas Raiders twice (2020, 2023) and the Denver Broncos once (2023).
