Things legitimately could not have gone worse for the Miami Dolphins in Week 13 as far as their playoff hopes are concerned.

First, obviously, Miami fell at Green Bay on Thanksgiving night by a score of 30-17 in a contest that didn't even feel that close.  However, Sunday – and Monday night – were a masterclass of bad results for the Dolphins.

According to the NFL.com playoff picture engine, the Dolphins now have just a 10% chance of making the postseason.

That's in part because one avenue to the postseason was officially closed off on Sunday night.   The Buffalo Bills clinched the AFC East with a 35-10 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

As for the wild card, Miami sits in 9th the AFC, now two games back of Denver in the loss column and three back of the Los Angeles Chargers.

LA beat Atlanta 17-13 on Sunday, and the Broncos prevailed in a wild Monday night game over Cleveland 41-32.

Indianapolis, who is even with the Dolphins in the loss column, snatched victory from the jaws of defeat at New England 25-24 with a last second touchdown.  The Colts hold the head-to-head tiebreaker due to a 16-10 win over Miami earlier this season.

However, Indy is still in range of winning the AFC South if they can go on a run and the Texans fall.  The Texans have a challenging schedule ahead, while the Colts have a significantly easier slate.  Miami and Houston will also play later this month, giving Miami a chance to earn a tiebreaker over the Texans if they falter down the stretch and enter the Wild Card picture.

Of course, none of that will matter if the Dolphins don't take care of business against the Jets.  The teams will face off at 1:00 pm ET on Sunday from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
