The college football regular season is a wrap and conference championship games are here. Ashton Jeanty and his Boise State Broncos are set to face off against Ricky White and the UNLV Rebels in the Mountain West Championship in what should be the most important Group of 5 Conference rematch of the year. Which team will win it all, earning a first round bye or the final spot in the first ever 12-Team College Football Playoff?

Last time these two teams faced off Boise State found themselves struggling for the first time in over a month as running back Ashton Jeanty almost looked human, at times. Hajj-Malik Williams had been the starting quarterback for less than a month with UNLV, but he was already looking like one of the better players in the country. Still, Boise State came away with a 29-24 win in late October, ultimately leading to an undefeated regular season conference record.

Heading into this monstrous rematch between the Broncos and the Rebels, media members of A to Z Sports who cover teams around the country decided to weigh in, sharing their predictions for this huge MWC rivalry with massive playoff implications. The picks are in. Enjoy!

Boise State 27, UNLV 24

So much has changed in just over a month for both of these teams since they last played. Boise State has finally found their footing on defense against the pass to go along with their Top 20 run-stopping unit. UNLV has become one of the most efficient passing attacks on top of continuing their wild dominance on the ground.

Ashton Jeanty has been enough for Boise State all season long. He may have had a couple lulls below 200 rushing yards in a game here and there, but he'll score at least twice. Maddux Madsen has stepped up at quarterback and does enough if teams try to take Jeanty away with 21 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions on the entire season.

The trio of quarterback Hajj-Malik Williams, wide receiver Ricky White, and running back Jai'Den Thomas has been nearly unstoppable this year, but Boise State limited them. UNLV didn't reach even 190 passing or rushing yards last time these two teams played. Boise's defense is even better now. The terrific trio scores all three touchdowns, but still falls just short as the Broncos go to the College Football Playoff.  – Travis May

Boise State 31, UNLV 27

This is far and away the most intriguing game on the championship week schedule. Earlier this season, these two teams met in Las Vegas and it went down to the wire with Boise State escaping with a 29-24 victory.

Both of these teams have been playing better as of late but the one player that will make the biggest difference is UNLV quarterback Hajj-Malik Williams. He took over for Matthew Sluka after three games and was only on his fifth start when the Broncos came to town. His play will determine if the Rebels are able to pull off the upset. Ultimately, the improved play of Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen and Heisman Trophy hopeful Ashton Jeanty will make more plays and secure a spot in the College Football Playoff. – Tyler Forness

Boise State 37, UNLV 30

The only thing standing in between Boise State and a potentially No. 4 seed is the playoffs is this rematch with UNLV. You can bet all eyes will be on running back Ashton Jeanty, needing the Boise State passing attack to make enough plays. They get the job done, although in a bit of a nail biter. – Ryan Roberts

UNLV 41, Boise State 38

The Rebels are allowing 3.2 yards per carry, giving Ashton Jeanty the toughest test of the season besides the Oregon game. With Hajj-Malik Williams proving to be a big play merchant at QB, and great operator of a highly-efficient offense, I think Jeanty and the Broncos miss out on the playoffs. Of course, I won't put it past Jeanty to prevail with a 350-yard game. – Ian Valentino
