Former Ohio State QB Kyle McCord’s comment on the Buckeyes losing to Michigan won’t sit well with many

In today’s age of college football, a player can be within your program and out of it the next. That was the case with quarterback Kyle McCord, who didn’t take long after the loss to Michigan last season to realize he would be playing elsewhere.
Just like Will Howard did on Saturday, McCord threw two interceptions in a loss to the Wolverines last year. After that, McCord entered the transfer portal and went to Syracuse. This past Saturday, Syracuse pulled off a big upset win over Cam Ward and Miami.
“Everything comes full circle,” said McCord, as he laughed.
McCord went 26-of-36 for 380 passing yards and three touchdowns in the 42-38 win over No. 6 Miami. McCord went head-to-head with Miami’s Ward and outplayed him in the biggest win of the season for the Orange.
So far this season, McCord has thrown for 4.326 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Last season in Columbus, McCord threw for 3,170 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six touchdowns. For comparisons, Howard has 2,860 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in over 200 fewer attempts. Howard has added seven rushing touchdowns and his ability to tuck the ball and run is the biggest difference from McCord last season.
McCord was asked about a school that was glad to see him go and his answer shouldn’t be a problem with many in Columbus, but it will. McCord was pushed out of town and has flourished since. Sure, Syracuse is a much smaller team, but he is still taking care of business.
In all reality, McCord could have said much more than just the few words he said. He kept it short and simple, but it likely did just enough to ruffle some feathers.
