Week 13 was a busy week for the Chicago Bears in more ways than one.
After falling in embarrassing fashion to the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving, the team decided to part ways with head coach Matt Eberflus. On Sunday, it was reported that general manager Ryan Poles will remain with the team in 2025 and help lead the coaching search with team president Kevin Warren.
With a surplus in available cap next season, three top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, and a franchise quarterback already established, the Bears will be one of the most coveted openings in the league for head coaching candidates.
Speaking of those three top picks in the draft, the results of Week 13's slate has things looking even better for the Bears in terms of draft positioning.
Bears Updated 2025 Draft Picks (1st-2nd Round)
In the first round, the Bears currently hold the 11th overall selection following their loss to the Lions, according to Tankathon.
In the second round, the Bears hold their own selection along with the Carolina Panthers' selection, the final remaining pick from the franchise-altering trade from two years ago. Right now, the Panthers' second round pick would be the 37th overall pick and the Bears' second round pick would be the 43rd overall pick.
That means, if the season ended today, the Bears would hold three picks in the Top-50 selections of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Team Needs In 2025 NFL Draft
Right now, the needs are pretty obvious for the Bears heading into the offseason. Ryan Poles and the Bears' front office need to attack both fronts heading into next year.
The guard positions especially need an overhaul to better protect quarterback Caleb Williams, and an upgrade at left tackle would be ideal. On the defensive front, the Bears are in dire need of more high-caliber depth on the interior and another top pass rusher opposite of Montez Sweat wouldn't hurt.
In Ryan Robert's latest 3-round mock draft for A to Z Sports, Roberts had the Bears investing in those two areas with their first three picks by selecting Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks, South Carolina edge Kyle Kennard, and Kentucky defensive tackle Deone Walker.
We're still a ways out from April's draft but it's clear everyone has an idea of what the Bears have a plan on what to attack early in the draft and they'll have the top capital to potentially land three more blue-chip players in the first two rounds.
