The Tennessee Vols lost a commitment from 2025 four-star defensive back Shaedy Hayward on Sunday.

Hayward, 6-foot-1/200 lbs from Lyons, GA, had been committed to Tennessee since late July. He's rated as the No. 9 safety in the nation and the No. 9 player in the state of Georgia.

The decision by Hayward to decommit from Tennessee comes just a few weeks after he publicly stated that he wasn't flipping his commitment.

Georgia and Florida are the two teams that are believed to be the biggest threats to land Hayward now that he's no longer committed to Tennessee.

On Sunday evening, On3's Steve Wiltfong predicted that Florida will be the program that signs Hayward.

It sounds like Tennessee is trying to get Hayward back in the commit column, but it certainly appears that the Georgia native won't be playing on Rocky Top next fall unless something changes in the next couple of days.
