Week 13 did not go how the Baltimore Ravens would have hoped at home against the Philadelphia Eagles. Baltimore was handed a 24-19 loss to fall to 8-5 on the season.
Baltimore now heads into a much-needed bye week in second place in the AFC North. The Ravens are two games back in the loss column behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North.
Following the loss to the Eagles, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed what everyone thought was going on with safety Marcus Williams.
"[Marcus Williams was] a healthy scratch at this point,” Harbaugh said.
Williams was replaced by Ar’Darius Washington last week against the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Ravens went with him over Williams in the Week 13 loss to the Eagles. Washington made a team-high eight tackles against Philadelphia.
This season, Williams had started 9-of-11 games for the Ravens. Now, Williams’ role going forward is very cloudy and may not involve stepping on the field a ton. In his three seasons with Baltimore, Willams has started 30 of 32 games with 149 tackles and five interceptions to his credit. So far this season, the veteran safety has 33 tackles and no interceptions.
"This is a game that we would have liked to have won, [but] we're still sitting in a good spot, and there is some good in our standings and stuff like that, that we'll be all right,” Harbaugh said after the 24-19 loss. “[We've got to] just continue to win games, and we need to stack win after win after win, and that's all it is."
Baltimore is 31st in the NFL in pass defense by allowing 265 yards per game through the air. Seeing a chance on the second set of the defense comes as a surprise to no one. The pass defense has been the single biggest negative for Baltimore this season.
"There wasn't much. It was just that we've got to be able to learn from this. We get a bye week, and so, there wasn't much. We're going to look at this and make ourselves a better team."

Gotta make the decision.
