The Kansas City Chiefs squeaked out a close one against the Las Vegas Raiders in a game where they should have blown them out. And any other year, they would have, but the football gods have made it obvious that they plan on making every single game the Chiefs play, a weird one. And, that's exactly what happened on Black Friday.

And while we could all kind of feel a weird game between the two rivals, especially after Christmas Day last year when Las Vegas won, no one thought it would end on a botched snap with the Raiders in position to win the game with a few seconds left. The Chiefs, of course, jumped on the ball and won the game. And that's all she wrote, as they swept the season series against the Raiders.

Las Vegas is a team playing for the top overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft this year. So, they aren't good, but, they always play the Chiefs close in these types of games. And their defense came to play, as they shut down Kansas City in a few areas.

One of those is the run game, which obviously has to be better. And head coach Andy Reid agrees.

"We can do better in that area. I have to make sure I give the guys the right things to run against that defense, and the guys have to do their job on top of that so it's a package deal there. But I didn't feel like I put them in the right position," Reid said on Monday.

The Chiefs only ran the ball 14 times with their running backs, because of what the Raiders defense was doing. Of course, Pacheco was on a snap count, somewhat, and he had the big 34-yard run, the longest run by any Chiefs player this season, but overall it was bad for the Chiefs run game.

Hunt finished with seven carries for 15 yards, rushing for 2.1 yards per carry. He also finished with -11 RYOE, or rush yards over expected. They weren't great,., and it certainly didn't help that their tackle situation was maybe the worst it's been all year.

And when the Chiefs are having to pull their best-run blocker out of his normal position in Joe Thuney and move him to the tackle position, it definitely makes things a bit more weird. The Chiefs have to fix this issue, especially before the postseason comes. But, don't they always get it fixed?

The Chiefs play the Los Angeles Chargers, Cleveland Browns, and Houston Texans next, where they will have an opportunity to fox their run game.
