Kyle Juszczyk has been a model of consistency for the San Francisco 49ers, who have once again selected him as their nominee for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.
The award, created in 2014 in honor of the founding owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Art Rooney Sr, is presented to the NFL player "who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents and integrity in competition".
All-Pro fullback Juszczyk has been nominated by the 49ers, marking the fifth straight year in which they have named him as their nominee.
A panel of former players from the NFL Legends Community — Warrick Dunn, 2014 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award recipient Larry Fitzgerald, Pro Football Hall of Famer Curtis Martin and Leonard Wheeler — will pick eight finalists (four in the AFC and four in the NFC) from the 32 candidates.
Those eight finalists will then be listed on the Pro Bowl ballot when players vote next month under the NFL Sportsmanship Award category.
San Francisco has never had a player win the award. For Juszczyk, he'll hope it's a case of fifth time lucky.
