Right from the get-go, the Oklahoma Sooners were hit hard on the injury front. Their offensive line, which was supposed to be the backbone of the team, started crumbling like a cookie in a toddler's hand. It all began in week one when a pile-up led to a domino effect of injuries. Branson Hickman, the starting center, went down with an ankle injury early in the game against Temple, the first game of the season, leaving fans wondering if this was going to be a season of what-ifs.

Then, there was Geirean Hatchett, who had to step up to center due to Hickman's injury. He also ended up needing surgery on his bicep, sidelining him for the rest of the year.

Jalil Farooq and Deion Burks, who was supposed to be the dynamic duo in the passing game, both got ruled out for the majority of the season and just when we thought they would be back, they missed the Alabama game. Not to mention, Jayden Gibson, Nic Anderson, and Andrel Anthony being out basically all year, too. Coach Brent Venables has been pushing the "next man up" mantra harder than ever. It's been a season where grit and heart have been on display, with the team fighting through adversity.

Despite all these setbacks, the Sooners have moments where they shine, especially against tough opponents like Alabama, where even with a depleted squad, they showed they could still play with heart and determination.

They can do the same against LSU, too, especially if the good news they have already gotten continues to carry over into Saturday during a night game in Baton Rouge.

When the Sooners released the injury report on Wednesday, it appeared that they could possibly get Andrel Anthony back, who was listed as questionable. Jalil Farooq, while playing against Missouri and almost playing against Alabama, are both listed as out. Brenan Thompson is also questionable.

The Sooners have played spoiler before, they can do it again.
