The Tennessee Vols will play arguably the biggest game of the Josh Heupel era on Saturday against the Vanderbilt Commodores.

If Tennessee beats Vandy, the Vols will be one of the 12 teams included in the College Football Playoff. A loss to the Commodores means Tennessee will almost certainly be left out of the playoff.

This Vanderbilt team is no pushover. The Commodores have wins against Auburn and Alabama this fall. They've also played well in games against Texas and LSU.

Tennessee, however, has a big talent advantage. And as long as the Vols show up in Nashville and play their game, they should be able to head back to Knoxville as a playoff team.

Former Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops, who spent a decade as Heupel's head coach and boss, predicted this week that Tennessee will get the win in what he thinks will be a close game.

"That's a tough one," said Stoops when asked to pick the winner of the Vols vs Commodores matchup. "They're (Vandy) better than you want them to be. They've had some big wins this year. I'm still going to take Tennessee. I don't know what the points are yet, but I still think it's going to be a heck of a game and a tight game."
