It couldn't be all sunshine and rainbows for the Michigan Wolverines after flipping elite five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood last week. They built up some terrific momentum with flipping multiple players over the last week, but that momentum hit a setback Friday morning with one talented flip.

2026 quarterback Brady Hart, who Michigan had invested heavily into recruiting for months, flipped from the Wolverines to the Texas A&M Aggies on Friday. Hart also reclassified into the Class of 2025.

Hart had been a heavy priority for the Wolverines, and fans were desperately excited to see his time eventually come. It was a source of hope for many this season, as the Wolverines rotated three different quarterbacks to find a solution under center.

The 6'4 signal caller from Cocoa, Florida, had been committed to the Wolverines since June of 2024. Both head coach Sherrone Moore and offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell were out to visit Hart just two weeks ago, and things felt as solid as they could be.

Just two weeks after that visit, however, Hart decommitted, reclassified into 2025, and flipped his commitment to the Texas A&M Aggies, who came out of nowhere to snag the talented passer.

The timing on this one feels a little off. It could simply be explained by the fact that Michigan shunted him to the side in favor of Bryce Underwood. Hart had likely been planning to reclassify the whole time and probably told the Wolverines' staff such, and Michigan still spent the millions on securing Underwood. I too would feel disrespected and wouldn't want to honor my commitment if the coaches weren't going to honor their own.

It could also mean that there could be changes coming to the Wolverines' staff. With offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell serving as his primary recruiter, Hart might have heard about a potential change there as Sherrone Moore wants to shake things up on both sides of the ball.

Regardless of the why, Hart's recruiting flip was an unexpected one for the Wolverines. The loss of a talented quarterback will always draw attention and this one was an important one for Michigan.
